This work is directly inspired by the metaphor of the large, engulfing space and the small, human element. The vast, dark mass of the building's angular structure represents the 'Whale,' a monumental presence that looms over the viewer. The title invites contemplation on themes of being swallowed by the urban environment or confronting immense, overwhelming forms. I chose the extreme high-contrast black and white style to emphasize the aggressive geometry and the tension between the pure black mass and the sliver of light on the roofline. The medium transforms the building into a stark, silent sculpture.
